Docebo – Accessibility Statement

Docebo is committed to providing SaaS enterprise applications accessible to all individuals, including keyboard-only and screen reader users. We believe that by making technology more accessible, we’re helping create a future with greater opportunity and equality for all. Disability inclusion is fundamental to this belief, and we recognize that inclusion fuels innovation.

Docebo publicly undertakes to clearly identify the state of compliance of the platform with WCAG 2.1 standards, level A and AA (with references also to European Telecommunications Standards Institute EN 301 549 and US Federal Government Revised 508 Standards) for the Docebo Learn platform. Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also applied some Level AAA Success Criteria.

To this end, Docebo implements the following strategy and actions:

  • The implementation of native accessibility with a continuous improvement approach starting from July 2020;

  • A multi-year accessibility plan (2020-2023) to cover the platform’s core functionality in terms of accessing and attending the courses included in the learner’s learning path;

  • The actions carried out in the 2020-2023 period and reported by Accessibility Conformance reports (VPAT based). Because of the transition to the new course page, Docebo currently exposes two Accessibility Conformance Reports (both based on VPAT® Version 2.4):

  • Starting from 2023, the action plan will be guided by the product roadmap.

Compliance Status

Docebo Learn is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guideline 2.1 standards, level A and AA. All the conformance details are provided in the Docebo Accessibility Conformance Report based on the VPAT. Docebo Learn’s journey towards accessibility began in 2020 and it can be considered a work in progress, as more and more areas of the experience meet the platform accessibility standards.

Compliance Note

At the moment, the conformance applies to the Learner role only to cover the platform’s core functionality in terms of accessing and attending the courses included in the learner’s learning path. The Docebo Learn detailed conformance status is provided in the Docebo Accessibility Conformance Report based on the VPAT.

Non-Accessible Content

Despite our effort to ensure accessibility, we are aware of some limitations, which we are working to fix. Here follows a description of the main ones:

  • Docebo Learn generally non-text content is presented to the user with a text alternative that serves an equivalent purpose. However, there are a few exceptions where the alternative text is not available.

  • Docebo Learn provides some animations and auto-updated content but does not provide any mechanism for the user to pause, stop, or hide them.

  • Docebo Learn programmatically determines the language of a page. However, at the moment there is no mechanism to specify different languages for subsets or parts of a page.

  • Docebo Learn presents most of the content in a meaningful sequence, operable through keyboard navigation and does not “trap” the keyboard focus within subsections of content, however, there are some exceptions.

  • Docebo Learn uses standard HTML and WAI-ARIA attributes to describe the role, name, value, identity, operation, and state of user interface elements to assistive technologies, presents the content with proper labels and in a meaningful reading sequence, however, there are some exceptions.

  • Docebo Learn strives to ensure that the focus indicator is always visible and has good contrast with the surrounding content and background, however, there are some exceptions.

All the conformance details are provided in the Docebo Accessibility Conformance Report based on the VPAT. If you encounter any other issue not listed or if you have a suggestion on how to improve accessibility, please email us at accessibility@docebo.com.

Design and Development

Starting from July 2020,Docebo focuses on creating a keyboard-only and screen reader-compatible experience and keeps an eye out for future guidelines. For details about compliance, refer to the Compliance Status chapter of this statement. Docebo works to implement native accessibility to create functionalities that are accessible by default, uses semantic code – integrated by WAI-ARIA – and does not rely on overlays or plug-ins not compatible with the needs of people with disabilities.
